1 Weekend, 3 victories for JoeFroyo p/b Old Town Bicycles - Tuesday, April 11, 2017

On April 9th 2017, the JoeFroyo Racing p/b Old Town Bicycle team won both the 50+ and 60+ races at Mason Lake. The 50+ race saw Paul Coffee attack off the front while Rick Roof and Kevin Semler provided support in the peloton by covering all attempts to chase Paul back.  In the end Paul won with a sizeable gap. Kevin contested in the bunch sprint to finish 11th. Rick who suffered a flat in the final lap recovered to finish in 17th.

In the 60+ race we saw Steve Matson, Jeff Patterson, and Paul racing. This race saw Jeff attack off the start like last week. Steve immediately went on the attack when Jeff was caught and would stay away with one other racer for the remainder of the race. In the end, Steve won with a nice gap. Paul sprinted to a third place finish and Jeff finished with the pack.

On Saturday April 8th Paul also raced in the Kings Valley Road Race in Salem OR. In true Paul fashion he went on the attack with about 15 miles of the 56 miles remaining. The attack resulted in a five rider break heading into the final three mile uphill finish. Paul was able to ride to victory in the 60+ category.

The team was also represented by Rick, Steve, Brian Guthrie and Bobby Humphrey this week on Tuesday April 4th at the Pacific Raceways Road Series. Rick finished 12th, Brian 14th and Steven and Bobby finished mid pack in their races.

Well done to all who competed this week. The team is off to The Ridge Circuit Race in Shelton on Saturday April 15th for some evening racing.

JoeFroyo Racing p/b Old Town Bicycle power to victory! - Thursday, April 06, 2017

On April 1st 2017, the JoeFroyo Racing p/b Old Town Bicycle team raced to success in both the Men’s 50+ and the 60+ races at the Mason Lake Road Race. Racing in the 50+ we had Rick Roof, Joel Jones, Brian Guthrie and Kevin Semler. After numerous attacks from the  team one finally stuck on lap 3, which led to Rick finishing in second place followed by Joel in 3rd and Brian in 4th. Kevin cruised into the finish comfortably within the pack.  In the 60+ race JoeFroyo/OTB was represented by Paul Coffee, Steve Matson, Jeff Patterson and Tom Hackleman. Right from the start Jeff launched an attack which was brought back. Immediately, Steve launched another attack which continued until the final half lap when the break was caught by Paul, who went on the attack for the win! Steve out kicked the others in the breakaway for2nd. Both Paul and Steve gave credit to the others for their stellar teamwork which allowed the break to stay away.

Earlier in the week Rick also represented the team at the Pacific Raceways Road series and finished in 5th place in the masters category.

Nice work team and good luck at Mason Lake #2.
